Located in the Hyatt on Printer's Row, this South Loop critical hit is a link to the past and future with its original, innovative menu and superb decor. Prairie's inspired New American borrows from a tradition as old as America itself: the heartland. Although Beef and vegetables rule the roost at Prairie, chef Andre Bienvenu cooks up interesting twists on these Midwest comfort foods. Unfortunately perhaps for the chef, the design of Prairie is so unique as to almost steel the thunder from the menu. Master architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s style is mimicked to perfection in Prairie’s earthy beige dining room. To drive the message home, photographs of Wright’s work adorn the walls.
